From Rags to Riches
The text-based adventure begins. Edgar has worked hard for his prize only to see it snatched from his hands at the last moment. And with it, all his lands and wealth. So embark on a journey to get back what he has lost. Through skill check based adventure, brothel management, and politics.
The game is currently 80% complete and contains close to 1500 images, and around 10-15 hours of game play. There are over 75 characters and over 45 hirable girls for the brothels.
Here's a bit more detail around the roadmap.
Chapter 1: Currently available.
This chapter is a primarily linear storyline to get a feel for the skill based game. There are a few unlockable achievements and images. This chapter also begins the story.
Chapter 2: Currently available.
This chapter is much larger than the first one. It's a time limited chapter, where you will be able to upgrade the character's skills and earn money. You will also look to uncover important plot items.
Chapter 3: In progress, available on Patreon.
This chapter will be on par or larger than the second chapter. This is where the main character establishes his businesses, including two brothels, a dungeon, and other kinky venues. The goal here will be commerce, with strong skill based check story throughout.

Nice to see this still being developed. I haven't had the time to try the latest releases, but I do remember enjoying this when it first dropped. Excited to try it out again when I have the time :)
It's gotten a lot larger, so I hope you enjoy. I've currently hit the 80% of the game done, so I figure a few more months and the main storyline will be complete as well as most of the side quests. If there's enough interest on Patreon I might add some exclusive content as well, before I start the second game of the series.
Hi, I have a bug, I can't progress to chapter 2 after finishing chapter 1 in the port
Hello Red Lotus (great name btw), it's not a bug. Chapter 2 is not available in the demo. It's only available as a work in progress on Patreon.
You do raise a good point. On my next update I'll be more explicit that this is just a demo and that it ends on chapter 1.

Is there a plan to make it playable on Mac?
Eventually, yes I'd like to have a MacOS version, but for now it's limited to Windows. If it gets popular enough, I'll at least create a browser version which should enable MacOS users to play it.
In it's current state the game should be named from riches to rags more than the opposite, but i understand that's only the start of the story.
A nice RPG game with a paper RPG feel to it and nice porn as a reward.
Not overly fond of the fact that you can't take tests you failed anew once you load a saved game.
Had some issues with skipping the story too, sometime the game crashed when i did that.
Thanks for the feedback Chestercat. The original title was Riches to Rags to Riches, but I felt like that was a mouthful :).
I've debated a bit on that point of loading and retaking failed. Part of me likes that you need to try something different, but another part feels like if you are reloading it should be a clean slate. I look forward to hearing more feedback as I'm clearly still on the fence on that feature.

True, the original title would probably have been a bit long. ^^
I do understand the logic, but if you follow that logic till the end a failed attempt should stay failed. Similar to a paper RPG where one only have one attempt and bear with consequences. Preventing players to attempt the same thing, but allowing them to try something else seems a bit weird to me. I have the same feeling with successfull attemps mind you, some rolls seem to have been saved as successful. Like the decision to ask for Lady Isabelle for a secret passageway. There was apparently no roll once passed, but here you left the possibility to pick an alternative route.
The game only crashed when i skipped the story i did read already, i ended up not doing that anymore and could finish the demo. The amount of times it happened the most was after, the erm... second choice i think, when i chose to use stealth to sneak in the manor after the majordomo said the MC was not on the list. As long as one doesn't start anew a billion time to get to see all the alternative paths/skill gains and/or get all the rolls to be successfull there should not be a problem of stability.

Also some of the failed checks are actually funnier texts. Not that you should go fail everything for kicks.. :)

I did see a few funny failed attempts, didn't have to try to get them to get some. ;)
Also i didn't go full on fanatic either. Like the MC said he was a virigin and then failed -most of- the sexual actions i did let it pass.
I might be wrong, but i don't think the girl gets to cum even if all the checks are successes anyway.
But things like perception and cunning checks i didn't want him to fail them, given that he supposedly noticed and prevented a conspiracy.
What can I say, it's a good opinion.
BTW, you might want to try being a bit less nice. The MC being a virgin is only one of the possibilities at that point.
Regardless you can definitely make her have a great time, but I made that purposely hard, because well, the MC is a bit of a nooby. I'll add a save point just before that section.
